IV. Editing Your Website

1. How do I create a line break? To create line breaks in any of your information, simply include the code <br> at the end of the sentence or phrase you would like the break to appear after. To add in additional line breaks add more than one <br><br>.

For example:
The following hotels have been reserved for our guests: <br><br>Western<br>Marriott

this will appear as:
The following hotels have been reserved for our guests:

Best Western
Marriott

or

if not using any html code and you are just typing in the text area, just hit return (carriage return) for every line break that you need. What you see is what you get. If you combine with html then use or space twice.

2. What are the HTML tags I can use to enter in to my text area if I decide not to use the HTML Text Editor to generate my html code?
Bold Welcome to our <b>wedding</b> website.
Page Break Welcome to our website.<br><br>New paragraph.
Italics Welcome to our <i>wedding</i> website.
Underline Welcome to our <u>wedding</u> website.
Font Color <font color="red">Welcome to our site.</font>
Add a Link to a text <a href="http://www.some-url.com">Your text</a>
Add an E-mail link <a href="mailto:your@email.com">Your e-mail</a>
Center align <div align="center">Welcome to our website.</div>

3. I added a link via the flash html editor but the link doesn't work?
Using the html editor or just adding links via html in general, you have to include the "http://" then the www.mylink.com, if you just use the www.mylink.com your link will not display in a new open browser.

4. How do I convert an mp3 file?
You can download a trial version of MusicMatch Jukebox to convert your songs to an MP3 format. There is a 500kb file size limit on your music upload. The reason for a 500kb limit is that files any larger will slow down the loading process for people visiting on dial-up modems (56k). A 4mb mp3 file would take at least 13 minutes for someone on a dial-up modem to load. Most mp3 is coded to 128kps which means a file size of around 4mb for a four minute song. You probably need to reduce the mp3 to around 16-24 kps to get it to under 500kb. Please keep in mind that lowering the MP3 file size from 128kps to 16kps-24kps will reduce the sound quality as well.

5. I added contents to my sections but it doesn't show on my website?
All changes to your contents are updated immediately and should appear on your website as soon as you save the changes. If you don't see the changes it's because your computer has cache the files. Always close the browser window after clicking on "View Website" icon located in your Admin Control Panel so that the change will be in effect the next time you click on it. If the changes are not displayed correctly by re-opening and closing "View Website" do the following to see the reflected changes.

For Internet Explorer browser: You can clear the cache from your computer by going to Tools, then Internet Options, Delete Files in the Temporary Internet files heading under the General tab. Then refresh your browser if its still open or open a new window and type in your url address.

For Mozilla related browser: Changing Cache Settings

Your computer stores copies of frequently accessed pages in the cache. This way, the computer doesn't have to retrieve the page from the network each time you view it.

To set the size of the memory cache or to clear it (Windows and Unix only):

1. Open the Edit menu and click Preferences.
2. Under the Advanced category, click Cache. (If no subcategories are
visible, double-click Advanced to expand the list.)
3. Enter a number in the Memory Cache field to specify the size of
the memory cache. 1024K to 2000K is a good size. To clear the
memory cache immediately, click Clear Memory Cache.

*Important:* A larger memory cache allows more data to be quickly retrieved. But unless you have a lot of extra memory on your computer, 1024K is sufficient.

To set the size of the cache or to clear it:

1. Open the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
2. Under the Advanced category, click Cache. (If no subcategories are
visible, double-click Advanced to expand the list.)
3. Enter a number in the Cache field to specify the size of the cache. Re-set it to 0 MB.
To clear the cache immediately, click Clear Cache.

For AOL browser using 9.0 version:
How To Clear Your AOL 9.0 Browser Cache, if using other version, check aol.com for further instructions.

Setting Cache
From the horizontal toolbar at the top of your screen, click on:
Settings - A box appears called "Settings: Essentials".
Click on Internet [Web] Options - this will launch a window called "AOL Internet Properties".
Click on the 'General' tab.
Under 'Temporary Internet Files', click on the "Settings" button.
On the 'Settings' page, make sure "Every visit to the page" is Selected.
Click OK.
When you return to the 'General' tab, click on "Delete Files" to clear the cache.
Click OK.

6. How do I resize my photo to be smaller and upload faster?

Uploading a file which is not optimized can make your upload take a very long time or make your browser time out and stop. You can use any image editor to optimize your photo's, like Photoshop or others. You can also download a free application called 'IrfanView' to optimize your photos.

Instructions for using IrfanView

1. Download and install IrfanView
2. FILE > OPEN your image to optimize
3. IMAGE > RESIZE/RESAMPLE
4. Set the new size so that the largest number (either height or width) is 375 pixels. It will automatically update the smaller number in order to keep proportions.
5. Set the DPI to 72
6. Click OK

Now, you just have to save it and you are done:

7. FILE > SAVE AS
8. Select JPG - JPEG Files for the file type from the 'Save as type' menu at the bottom
9. Type a new filename to save your file as
10. You can set the quality at the highest on the options dialog box

7. How do I use the online Image Cropping Editor?

For some of our designs you have the option to edit and crop your photos so that you can fit them accordingly to your website's dimensions.
Most people are familiar with Photoshop software to edit your photos but if you don't have the software we have an alternative version you can use via your browser to edit your photos if you do not have a photo editor software.

Quick Demo Preview:
(In depth Instruction can be found in your Admin Control Panel)

1. Upload an Image from your computer by pressing "Browse" then click "Submit".

2. After uploading your image from your computer, you will then need to fill out the crop size to fit your template design requirement. For this example we will be using a crop size of 300 pixel by 300 pixel. Then click "Submit" to set the crop image dimensions.

3. Now a black border will appear that will guide you as to the crop size to be crop. You can drag the square border to the exact area where you would like your final crop size to be.

"Crop" button - Click this to crop the image.
"Preview" button - Click this button to preview the area to be crop.
"+" button - Click that to increase the image crop area to be bigger.
"-" button - Click that to decrease the image crop area to be smaller.

4. After clicking the crop button your final crop image will appear in your broswer. Now right click on your mouse and select "save picture as.." and name it appropriately to match what is required in the section that you are editing and save to your desktop.

5. Now that you have the picture cropped and saved to your desktop, go to your control panel and upload accordingly to the requirement of the section as needed.

Note: Another alternative is to download a freeware program called IrfanView. You can download it at http://www.irfanview.com

8. How do I use the Flash Html Editor?

Editing your content using your Site Admin Control Panel is as easy as using Microsoft Word. Just select the sections that you like to edit and type in your text in the textarea and click submit to edit your content. We also have a *Html Text Editor if you dont know any html that you can cut and paste to your textarea.
The HTML TEXT EDITOR is perfect to help you add simple html code to your content such as bold, increasing text size and color, and adding links to text and email. If you get stuck, there are instructions for every sections to help you make it correct.
*Screenshot of HTML TEXT EDITOR:

You type in the white "Editor" box (then click on above buttons to add the text attributes) then in the burgandy "Html View" box will show your html output. You then copy the generated html code from the "Editor" box and paste it to your text area in your Admin. It's that simple to add html code for bold, italic, underline, center, align, add links, add email address, and increase font size.

V. Website Admin

1. Can anyone else access my site Admin Control Panel?

You control access to your site Admin Control Panel through a username and password. No one else will be given that information. However, it is up to you to protect your information by choosing a password that would not be easy for someone to determine.

2. How do I set the music to be 'On' when someone goes to the site instead of 'Off'?
By default the music stay off because the music file is an MP3 and is a large file and will slow down the load time for those on slower 56k connections. Also some people might not want to hear the music if they don't have speakers on their computer and forcing them to download the file would make the site slower for them.

Alternatively, you can add this code below in the snip section of your admin to load the music to play when entering the site instead.

<embed name="music"
src="music/music.mp3"
width="300"
height="40"
loop=True
autostart=True>
</embed>
